21 days.
In 21 days, I will be a college graduate.
Whoa.
I wish there were words that could explain how I feel. I'm elated, I'm terrified, I'm so sure of who I am, and then I'm not at the same time. It's a whole mess of emotions that no one really gets unless you've been through it or if you're going through it.
There is a song I have been listening to a song called "I Will Be" by Wynonna Judd. Now, I'll be honest-not a big fan of the Judds. I love my country, but they are too country for me. However, I ran across this song the other day and the lyrics just really hit me.
"I could choose to keep my feet upon the beaten path.
Never cross the open field for the one snake in the grass.
But I'd rather risk my heart than never get the chance
To find my way-to find my way.
I will be here, I will be strong
I'll face my fears when the night is long
And still go on.
I will be brave, I will be bold
Follow my faith to a higher road.
And I'm not there yet-but I will be."
Here lately when everything is so up in the air and I honestly don't know what I'll be doing in the next few months, I have found comfort in this song. I may not be where I want to be yet, but I will be. I will be strong and brave and bold on going after what I want, and if it doesn't work out then I'll go down trying. But I'll go on and follow my faith.
I will be. I will be. I will be. 21 days. Let's do this.
